Raloxifene is a selective estrogen receptor modulator (SERM) primarily associated with preventing and treating osteoporosis in postmenopausal women. By binding to estrogen receptors and mimicking the effects of estrogen on bone tissue, Raloxifene triggers estrogenic pathways that help prevent bone loss and promote bone formation.

Raloxifene also helps decelerate the advancement of muscular dystrophy by improving muscle strength and overall function. It does this by increasing dystrophin production in muscle cells, the protein that maintains the structure of muscle fibers.
